# Understanding extra charge

### **Responsibility for the condition of the car**

When renting a car through FlynCar, it's important to return it in the same condition as when you received it. Here's what you need to know about potential charges.

### **What could lead to extra charges?**

* **Damages:** If the car is returned with damage or in a condition different from when it was rented, you may incur additional charges. These are necessary to cover repair costs and bring the vehicle back to its original state.
* **Cleaning:** Unexpected cleaning costs due to the rental may also lead to additional charges. This ensures the car is ready for the next renter.
* **Empty tank:** If the fuel level is lower at check-out, the Owner can adjust the price to compensate for the difference. He will make a request on the app and you'll receive it.

In these cases, owner can request a payment an additional payment through FlynCar. [Learn more about the reimbursement process](/for-driver/manage-reservation/handling-incidents-and-accidents.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.flyandcar.com/for-driver/payment/understanding-extra-charge.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
